Monitoring Effective Usage of water for Industrial Usage in Real Time; FluxGen Partners Microsoft

Microsoft Partners FluxGen for Water Replenishment in Bengaluru Hospitals

FluxGen developed AquaGen an AI and IoT based Water technology to monitor effective usage of water in real time

Optimizing existing water infrastructure and integrating new technology in water management main aim of FluxGen. AquGen came into picture as the FluxGen developed a smart real time industrial water monitoring system.

  • AquaGen, a Smart Real-time industrial water monitoring system
  • AquaGen is embedded with AI & IoT based technology to monitor water management

To provide industries with positive and clean water Fluxgen developed end to end water management solution. Being a water management firm based in Bangalore, Fluxgen’s  prime motive is to monitor the water usage in real time and since water is all about supply and management , reducing water wastage was one of the important objectives when Fluxgen came into existence.

To reduce wastage of water and effectively use water reducing operational cost in real time, Fluxgen provided AquaGen, a Smart Real-time industrial water monitoring system.

FluxGen’s device helps in monitoring real-time flow, level, pressure and energy that the water pump and the recycling equipment consumes.

With AI and Internet of Things Technology (IIoT) at the core of AquaGen, you can monitor its functions via the machine and the mobile application.

AquaGen

AquaGen was developed by Fluxgen which has been infused with advanced AI & IoT technology that reduce the Non-Revenue water wastage by necessary means. The water technology not only reduces costs but planet is able to save every water droplet bit-by-bit.

The water management solution AquaGen is embedded with water technology to reduce wastage and use water efficiently in sustainable manner specifically for a city like Bangalore which is dealing with water scarcity presently.

As per statistics 20+ industrial units like food processing plants, manufacturing plants including industrial towns are using AquaGen.Mainly to monitor and analyse present water consumption, leakage and excessive usage. Since 2016, the startup has conserved around one billion litres of water.

At present the firm has partnered with Microsoft to identify and arrest leaks, wastage, and excessive usage through sensor fusion, Artificial Intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT).

FluxGen aims to reduce water use at each hospital by half, the company said in a release.

About the Founders of Fluxgen

Ganesh Shankar is the Founder and CEO of FluxGen Sustainable Technologies. In the year 2006, he got into IISc for research in the ion-trap mass spectrometer. In 2008, he went on to work with General Electric Company (GE).

Ganesh had keen interest in understanding about electronic circuit. Ganesh wanted to gain experience before he embarked on his journey of owning a start-up.

Ganesh Shankar founder Fluxgen in 2011. Apart from being the founder of his start-up, Ganesh is also the visiting faculty at Centre for Continuing Education at IISc. Ganesh attended the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and RV College of Engineering.

Ganesh specialises in clean tech and Agri tech with expertise in Data science.

When Ganesh embarked on his entrepreneurial journey,  his aim was to significantly reduce water consumption, increase water availability within tmany industrial facilities, and reduce water delivery costs for these charitable institutions like hospitals.

Key benefits

  • Microsoft and Indian startup FluxGen have come up with a software solution to reduce water usage and detect leaks and wastage.
  • In their pilot projects, the technology companies have started working at two hospitals in Bengaluru and have reduced water usage by 50% in both, said an official from FluxGen.
  • The company spokesman said ‘the project was started at St Martha’s Hospital and another multi-speciality hospital in Whitefield in Bengaluru, a city whose water crisis made national headlines and also became a political issue in the general elections.
  • Further the project can be scaled nationally to solve India’s water issues as India is grappling water shortages in many parts of the country.
  • Both the companies will now deploy their advanced sensor fusion, artificial intelligence and internet of things (IoT) technologies to identify and mitigate leaks, wastage, and excessive use of water.
  • By 2030, India’s water demand is projected to be double the available supply, potentially impacting millions of people. The technology is expected to reduce water usage and make a difference in conservation.

FluxGen CEO Ganesh Shankar said the deployment of their solutions will cut down water consumption by 50% in hospitals and industrial units.
