Blinkit Introduces Order Deletion Feature to Enhance Privacy

 

 

Zomato-owned quick-commerce platform Blinkit has rolled out a much-awaited feature that enables users to delete their purchase history. This move is expected to give customers greater control over their data and enhance privacy.

Albinder Dhindsa, Blinkit’s co-founder and CEO, said that the feature has already picked up. More than 1,04,924 orders were deleted in the week of its launch. Dhindsa said that this update was for customers who do not want to see certain purchases in their order list.

 

Irrecoverable Deleted Orders

However, the firm clarified that any order deleted in Blinkit would not be restored. The order deletion queries at Blinkit won’t be catered to through their customer service. If numerous users are under an account, the others will still get to see those order details as well.

This one-way feature is a testament to Blinkit’s dedication to protecting customer data. It prompts users to exercise caution when using the delete option.
