Recently Sanjay has aired his views on upcomming budget on Agritech industry that holds high expectations for significant advancements in new-age technologies and the integration of sustainability within agriculture.

Sanjay Borkar’s view on upcomming budget holds a significant importance as has been working towards the digitization of Agriculture since 1996 and is passionate in his mission to transform Agriculture, Biotechnology and the Food industry through innovative and smart IT platforms.

As per him ‘Enhanced funding for technology adoption is critical, with increased investments in AI, machine learning, and blockchain needed to revolutionize farming practices, enhance productivity, and ensure sustainable growth. Tax incentives and subsidies for Agritech startups will accelerate innovation and attract young entrepreneurs to the sector’.

Sanjay along with his friend Santosh Shinde have developed this technology platform that can help in massive savings, in terms of time, resources and money for businesses.

About the Founder’s

Sanjay holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of Pune (India). His focus areas are Sustainability, Climate resilience, Traceability and Food safety.

Sanjay hails from an agricultural background and is aware of the problems the farming community faces on a daily basis, that is the reason that the founders of the organisation are both extremely keen on serving this sector.

Achievements of Farm ERP

The company has to date, served farms in around 30+ countries, deploying its software across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. FarmERP is used across 120 crop varieties over 650,000 hectares of land and is available in multiple international languages.

The platform serves 1.3 million farmers directly or indirectly and assisted them in accomplishing higher productivity, revenues, viability, and traceability.

FarmERP aims to target 2 million acres in the next two years.

Funding

In December 2019, FarmERP raised an undisclosed amount in Series A from Singapore-based strategic investor Technogen.  The company plans to use this funding to develop AI and ML-powered climate resilience intelligence.

This technology would help FarmERP to expand into newer regions as climate risks were one of the most common problems faced by stakeholders in Agritech.
