Historic Investment Rush! Kerala Draws ₹1.53 Lakh Crore at IKGS 2025

Kerala received investment proposals worth ₹1.53 trillion from 374 companies during the two-day Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025 (IKGS 2025). The Adani Group made the biggest commitment of ₹30,000 crore.

IT Sector Expansion and Job Creation

State Industries Minister P. Rajeev announced that 24 information technology companies plan to expand their operations with an investment of nearly ₹8,500 crore. This expansion is expected to create 60,000 new jobs. Additionally, 66 companies submitted expressions of interest (EoI) for investments exceeding ₹500 crore.

Major Investment Commitments at IKGS 2025

Calling it a “new beginning,” Rajeeve said IKGS 2025 boosted investor confidence in Kerala’s potential. Major investment commitments came from:

  • Hi-Lite Group (₹10,000 crore)
  • Tofl Pathanamthitta Infra (₹5,000 crore)
  • Lulu Group (₹5,000 crore)
  • Monarch Surveyors and Engineering Consultants (₹5,000 crore)
  • Sri Avantika International (₹4,300 crore)
  • Bharat Petroleum Corporation (₹900 crore)

Government Initiatives for Investment Facilitation

The government aims for “realistic” investments. A special committee will create fresh guidelines for plantation land use. Another ministerial-level committee will handle land rule exemptions. To ensure smooth execution, the government will set up a fast-track mechanism for processing EoIs. Work on these proposals will begin the next working day. A dedicated dashboard and tracking system will monitor progress. Each EoI will have a nodal officer, and a chief secretary-led committee will review progress periodically. The Chief Minister will also oversee developments.

Support for Investors

The government will introduce a toll-free number and an email ID for investor support to speed up investment implementation. Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, George Kurian, highlighted Kerala’s timely completion of central infrastructure projects. He noted that this progress has strengthened Kerala’s industrial sector and made the state more investment-friendly.

Global Participation at IKGS 2025

IKGS 2025 attracted around 3,000 global industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and investors from 26 countries. The event featured country-focused sessions with six nations—Germany, Vietnam, Norway, UAE, France, and Malaysia—exploring investment opportunities. Ambassadors from various countries also attended.

Exhibition and Special Sessions

The summit hosted 30 special sessions and a large exhibition featuring over 100 enterprises. It highlighted Kerala’s industrial success stories, public sector enterprises, and traditional handicrafts, showcasing its diverse business potential.
