PhonePe’s Pincode Rolls Out 24×7 Med Delivery

PhonePe’s hyperlocal delivery platform Pincode has expanded its services to launch round-the-clock medicine delivery in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune. This new feature promises to deliver prescription and over-the-counter medicines within 10 minutes, anytime, day or night.

A Hyperlocal Model Over Dark Stores

Unlike traditional e-pharmacies that rely on dark stores or centralized warehouses, Pincode sources medicines directly from nearby local chemists. This approach not only speeds up delivery times but also supports small businesses, giving local vendors a stronger digital presence.

By embedding neighbourhood pharmacies into its logistics network, Pincode is adopting a “local-first” model aimed at building both speed and trust in healthcare delivery.

Empowering Pharmacies and Consumers

Vivek Lohcheb, CEO of Pincode, emphasized the dual impact of the move:

“Our mission is to enhance healthcare accessibility and convenience while empowering local medical shops. The 10-minute delivery ensures timely access to medicines, and our doctor-on-call feature helps bridge gaps in access.”

This approach addresses both the consumer need for instant healthcare access and the small business need for digital empowerment.

Free Doctor Consultations for Non-Prescription Orders

Pincode is also solving a common friction point—users without prescriptions. Customers can now select the “no prescription” option at checkout and receive a free teleconsultation from a certified doctor. If medically appropriate, a digital prescription is issued—compliant with India’s telemedicine laws.

This feature ensures that urgent, non-critical medication needs are met responsibly, especially during odd hours or in emergencies.

Zero Delivery Charges, Direct Discounts

Unlike many other players in the quick commerce space, Pincode is keeping things consumer-friendly:

  • No delivery fees

  • Discounts passed directly from partner chemists to customers

This makes the platform not only fast and reliable but also affordable, further increasing its appeal in price-sensitive urban markets.

Meeting India’s Growing Demand for On-Demand Healthcare

The new service comes at a time when demand for real-time healthcare access is rising, especially in urban centres where chronic diseases, senior care, and late-night emergencies are becoming common.

Pincode’s instant delivery model is particularly useful for:

  • Patients with chronic conditions

  • Individuals with mobility limitations

  • Families needing urgent medication at odd hours

By providing a digital bridge to trusted neighbourhood chemists, Pincode is filling a crucial gap in urban healthcare infrastructure.

Beyond Quick Commerce: A Strategic Move

While Pincode started as a 10-minute delivery app for groceries and essentials, this foray into healthcare marks a strategic evolution. It transforms the app from a convenience tool to a critical, utility-first platform.

This could position PhonePe’s Pincode as a serious player not just in quick commerce, but also in India’s evolving digital healthcare ecosystem.

What’s Next? Wider Rollout Likely

The service is currently live in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune—but given PhonePe’s scale and reach, expansion to other cities seems imminent. Its local-first, healthcare-focused approach could serve as a blueprint for ethical, scalable quick commerce—one that supports local economies while solving everyday problems for millions.

Pincode’s 24/7 medicine delivery is more than just fast service—it’s a thoughtful blend of technology, community support, and healthcare access. By partnering with local chemists, offering free doctor consultations, and ensuring instant delivery, PhonePe is not just chasing speed, but solving real problems with heart.
