Zomato sets Benchmark with New Uniform Policy

Zomato the food delivery partner sets another benchmark and introduces the option to wear a kurta while on duty, shifting away from the previously mandatory t-shirt policy and Green attire for those delivering vegetarian food.

The Go Green Attire for Delivery Partners

In another move the delivery partner introduced all Green uniform for those delivering to vegetarians. This new move ensures a code of safety and trust on the Zomato. Towards this move Zomato’s cofounder said ‘this will ensure that our red uniform delivery partner is not incorrectly associated with non-veg food and blocked by any resident welfare associations (RAW) during any special days and our delivery partners who ride long distances their physical safety is ensured’.

Kurta Uniform Unites Culturally, Brings in Comfort level for Women Workforce

The introduction of the kurta option is more than just a uniform policy update; it’s a statement. It signifies Zomato’s commitment to respecting cultural norms and individual preferences, ensuring that all delivery partners feel comfortable and respected in their work attire.

This change acknowledges the diversity of its workforce and the importance of fostering an environment where everyone feels they belong.

The company gives women workforce the freedom to choose and the  policy change is expected to encourage more women to join the delivery workforce.

This change in uniform dress code breaks stereotypes and paves the way for greater gender diversity in a traditionally male-dominated field.

Cultural Sensitivity

The  move by Zomato is a reflection of company’s efforts to be culturally sensitive and responsive to the needs and expectations of its diverse workforce and customer base.

Zomato also  addressed many graver problems faced by women delivery partners and bought in cheers from all walks of life as women workforce can comfortably work and sink in with the cultural diversity present in the country.

Zomato garnered lot of praises from social media users and big brands who are into designing kurta wear for women.
